Help please!  I am not much of a computer person.  I have an Inspiron 2200 and several days ago when I turned on, the lights went on & the Dell screen flashed for a second and the screen went dark.  I turned it off for a day, removed battery, still same.  You can barely see the screen BUT it is not the contrast because naturally that was the 1st thing I tried.

 

I am in a panic because of what I have on laptop.  I ran out yesterday and purchased this Inspiron 1525 but I want to remove my stuff from my old plus find out if this is a major problem or repairable.
