Intel My Wi-Fi Technology adapter not found?

Not sure what this is or why Im missing it. Can the Icon be removed from the tray?  Or does the laptop have an issue?

I cant say none because I lose connection with teh internet from time to time. But I dont see any issues that seem to relate to this icon. I guess if its not doing anything I would like to turn it off to release the small bit of resources it used.
