When I start up my laptop, sometimes the light display won't turn on. It's strange because it happens sporatically and without any type of pattern. Sometimes I'll restart it a number of times with and without the plug befores it'll operate properly. And sometimes I'll just close up the laptop (forcing it to go into sleep mode), and then open it because the display will on occasion flicker on after that. I've been on tech support with Dell but they weren't very helpful. There was a suggestion that it might be a software issue, which makes sense because the display always lights up for the Dell and Windows logo whenever I power up the laptop and before it launches into windows XP.

Has anyone dealth with this issue before?

Does anyone have suggestions?
