So my laptop is sitting on my desk powered off and I'm walking up to it and the light hits it just right.  It looks like someone drew an "X" on my screen!  It's about 3 inches high and 1.5 inches wide, looks like a wide marker.  There also seems to be a smudge where someone tried to rub the X out.  And I know it wasn't me!  I work from home for my company and my laptop has never even been outside or touched by anyone but me.  I'd be the last person to draw an X on my screen.  I didn't even try to clean it but I used a dry soft monitor cloth to see if the smudge would go away.  Looks permanent.

The laptop is about 2 months old so I missed the 30 day no-questions-asked return.  I never noticed it before though.  With the laptop powered on you can't really see it but now I notice it all the time.  Do you guys think Dell would replace this screen since there is technically nothing wrong with it aside from it permanently displaying someone's artistic expression?

I'm also worried about getting the Hitatchi replacement.  I have the Samsung.
