In the process of trying to nail down an issue I was having with my ATI 9600 Pro driving the 2001FP, I noticed that the specs for the monitor mentioned that it came with a 24 pin DVI-D cable (dual link capable I assume, 3 rows of 8 pins + 1 blade pin). However, close inspection of the cable that came with my 2001FP only had 18 pins (2 blocks of 3x3 pins separated by a 2x3 pin blank space, + the blade pin... I assume a single link capable cable).

Anyone know if this is a typo in the Dell spec (they're all really shipped with 18+1 pin cables), or did I just get sent a lower capability cable buy accident?

On the same subject, can anyone comment on the dual link capabilities of the 2001FP DVI interface if I were to pair it with an actual 24 pin (dual link) DVI-D cable... assuming my ATI graphics card is also dual link capable? Will the 2001FP negotiate a dual-link connection?

The specs don't mention this, and I'd like to avoid chasing after a 24-pin DVI cable if there's nothing at both ends to actually make use of the extra 6 pins.

Edit- From the spec page for the 2001FP:"Cable(s) included: 1 x 15-pin D-Sub and 1 x 24-pin DVI-D cable"
