Im am currently running an Inspiron E1405, Intel 2Ghz Dual Core, with 2 GB of RAM, 8x CD/DVD Burner (Sony DVD+-RW DWQ58A)

 

Recently, while trying to burn CD's and DVDs, I noticed significant lag in everything I was doing, so I checked out the Task Manager > Performance, and noticed that one core of my CPU was at 100%, resulting in an overall usage around 50%-55%, but when I look at the processes, everything is normal and only totals 1% to 5% of CPU usage. This occurs whenever the drive is active - reading or writing of CD's or DVD's, no matter the program used. Playing music or video from disc results in choppy audio playback, and significant lag throughout my system. Is there anything I can do to fix this, it worked fine when I got the laptop a few weeks ago.
