Additional IDE hard disk on Dimension 9200

I got a new Dimension 9200.:smileyvery-happy:

Dual Core E6400, ATI Radeon X1300PRO, SONY DVD +-RW AW-Q160S,

Running WinXP media edition.

On the SCSI and RAID controller do I have a 320 GB Western Digital SATA disk as main drive.

I would like to install my two old Western Digital IDE disk each 250 GB as additional disk, and have therefore installed a WinXP Promise Ultra 133TX2 ™ IDE controller.

I first install the controller, and then started the PC.

When it starts do I get following messages:

Ultra 133TX2 Promise 2.20.0.15

1999-2001 Promise technology all rights ..

Detecting  -/│\-

Ultra Bios 133TX2 not installed because no drive detected

Serial ATA ACHI Bios Version iSrc 1.02.23 …

Then it’s starting up.

When Windows is running it detect new hardware IDE controller, and I install the drivers from the diskette from Promise.

After closing the PC and connecting one of the IDE disk to the controller, I start up the PC, and get following messages:

Ultra 133TX2 Promise 2.20.0.15

1999-2001 Promise technology all rights ..

Detecting  -/│\-

Then something like “Ultra 133TX2 BIOS installed disk 250GB detected”

Then

Serial ATA ACHI BIOS Version iSrc 1.02.23 08012006

AHCI BIOS not installed

Intel® Matrix Storage Manager option ROM v. 6.0.0.1022 ICH8R

Then nothing :smileysad:

Who do I solve this problem, so I can use my old disk in the PC.

I have no problems with reinstalling the PC, already done once because I got it with 320GB on the C: drive. Now I do have two partition on the disk.:smileywink:
