Case Damage?

So...the inside of my Dell XPS 600 case was damaged when they sent a tech over to replace the hard drive and motherboard.  I didn't notice it till I opened the computer myself later (since the issue that the hd and motherboard were supposed to resolve were not resolved), but having opened it I now cannot safely close it.

It is a tiny piece of metal, bent inwards, and it prevents me from folding down the green latchto secure my PCI cards in place.

According to the service technician I'm on the phone with now, they would ONLY be able to send me a full replacement system.  Is this true?  Is there no way I can recieve a replacement case?

I have gone through HECK with this system.  I have logged a ridiculous amount of time on phone calls on a single problem that was never resolved.  I actually resolved the problem myself (what I opened the case for when I discovered the internal damage).  I do not WANT a new computer after all the time, effort, and the extra 80 bucks I spent on a replacement soundcard for this computer myself (since the Dell technician I spoke to said I would most definitely never need a new one and it was clearly working).  Is recieving a new system really the ONLY POSSIBLE OPTION?  I hope someone can answer.
