Hello, I just purchased a new dell dimension 8300 with upgrades to the video card and memory. As soon as i plugged in my webstar cable modem and went to the web, i got the irql not less than equal message. I called dell and they had me reformat the hard drive and reinstall xp home. I did that and it still didn't work. They sent me a new hard drive 2 days later and it would not even boot to windows (it just circled, this is a known issue, shame on u dell !) grrrrrrrrr!Anyway, the tech put the old hard drive back in and i got a new cable, non usb, to connect my modem. I am now able to access the internet without any problems however i cannot use any of the usb connections or i get the "blue screen" It's definitely a usb issue. My ATI TV won't work ,as well as printer or anything else that utilizes the usb ports. They all cause system errors. Dell is sending me a whole new system but i am wondering if this is hard drive issue and will i have the same problem with the new one? I have downloaded and installed the bios update from dell and the service packs from microsoft. What could be wrong? I can't believe i spent so much money on a machine that has never worked right. It's so frustrating. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance
