Just looking for some help with a over heating problem.  Just this past month the fan decided to quit working.  Thought I had a bad fan, so replaced it.  Unfortunately!  This didn't fix the problem.  Did some web searching and found the DELL Inspiron 8100/8200 fan control V2.2.0 program would control the fan.  So I installed it.  It works as advertised, but the system still overheats and the system locks up.

 

Question?  Is there a problem with the motherboard heat sensor, and would this require a replacement motherboard to fix it?
