Networking with firewire(IEEE1394)

Hello TechSupport and other Users,

I am experiencing strange problems. but step by step.

All the things I wanted to do is, to connect the notebook with my Desktop PC and transfer data something like 4 times faster than 100Mbit/sec.

So I buyed a Digitus IEEE 1394 PCI Card for my PC.

My Notebook, Latitude C840, has got it's own IEEE Port under the PC-CardBus. This is a Firewireport, right?

The Desktop PC runs with WinXP Pro und the C840 with w2k SP3. After I have installed the Driver on the PC. everything was fine. The IEEE PCI Card was known as a second nic. The firewirecable was plugged into the PC and then into the Notebook. Now the trouble began.

The w2k on the notebook recognized, that a cable was plugged in and wanted to install: "Mircosoft 1394 PC" and after this (I haven't got any drivers) a "Microsoft NIC1394". Now I've got 2 devices with a yellow Question(?) and a smaller Exclamation(!) mark in the DeviceManager

What do I have to do?

again: The IEEE Hostcontrollers are fully recognized by the PC and the notebook (only its own) but no connection can be established between them.

thanks in advance!
