I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 530s with Vista Home Premium. I also have Comcast as my ISP. The computer is connected via Router to the Modem. I have a desktop (XP) and laptop (Vista) that is connected to the router and can receive the internet. However, when I try to connect and go to Broadband (PPPoE) it is asking for a User Name and Password but Comcast does not require that.

 

I have attempted many things - turned off all Windows Firewalls, disable iPV4 and 6 and combinations thereof but to no avail. Right now I am just about to grab the Windows XP Pro CD and install that. At least I know that works.

 

I would really like this to work with Vista Home Premium but connecting to the Internet is driving me nuts.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
