Go to SolutionDell Optiplex 7460 GPU High temp after BIOS update
Hello!
After I bought Dell Optiplex 7460 (i7/16 GB/512GB SSD/Geforce GTX1050/touchscreen) it has BIOS 1.5.3 version. And everything seems good (GPU tests in AIDA don't give a GPU temperature higher than 60C). But then Dell Update Utility asked me to update software including BIOS. New BIOS version is 1.7.3 (from 27th of June). And after that I noticed that even in the simplest 3d scenes FPS dropped to 10-15 on geforce graphics. I checked the GPU temperature and found that while performing the same AIDA tests GPU temperature raises to 90-92C and that's the reason of FPS drop.
I tried to install new drivers (both for NVIDIA graphics and INTEL chipset). That didn't help. I tried to downgrade the BIOS with different ways (through the installer downloaded from dell support page, by restoring the bios via BIOS recovery (ctrl + esc while boot)). But the result was always - "bios update blocked due to unsupported downgrade". Nothing helps.
Can anyone guide me what can I do? In case there's no any solution the only option left is to give this AIO back I to the store and make refund I think.
