I have a T605 with Server 2003 R2.  It recently took a dive so I had to install a new server.  In the mean time, I brought it back to life.  It was purchased in July 2009.  It has a Windows Server 2008 std product key on the sticker.  It was loaded with Server 2003 R2.  Now that it is out of service, I want to upgrade it to Server 2008 R2.  Can it be done?

I tried the Microsoft Eval download.  It is not seen on boot up.  It give me an error stating it is not compatible with this unit if I click on the setup.exe program on the CD.  I tried running it both ways with a drive on a SATA port and completely off the RAID Card and backplane with them unplugged.  I try to set up a new install with the DELL supplied 2003 CD's on a spare drive in hopes to upgrade to 2008.  The 2003 install CD's get to about 30 seconds in the copying windows files and BSOD.

Any ideas?
