i7 3820 temperatures
Hey everyone, I got an R4 a little under a year ago with an i7 3820 cpu. It's got 8 gb ram, a gtx 670, 2 1 TB HDD. I was usually getting between 38-44 C as the idle temps and running bf3 something that requires a lot from the cpu the cores would run at around 60 - 68 C.
A few days ago I walked away from my pc and went I came back a bit later all 4 cores were between 82 - 85 C, with nothing running just sitting idle. I shut it down for the night and it's powered back up and been running fine, just with a big difference in temperatures. It sits idle at 50-55 C and as soon as bf3 loads the cores jump to 75 - 80 and I can hear the CPU cooling unit working extreme overdrive. Should I be concerned that something up with my chip, or am I possibly (hopefully) just looking at a cooling issue?
I did run a full diagnostics with PC Doctor and everything passed except the primary surface test for the video card (which is weird because it's less than 2 months old and has been working flawlessly). I haven't been able to find any process that might be chewing up the cpu, and everything else is running fine, my gpu is at 30 idle, <50 C under load.
