Hello all

 

I recently was infected by a virus on Windows Media Player when asked to update my codec. Not thinking anything of it, I clicked on it, and it proceeded to infect my computer with numerous pop-ups and adware. I removed the majority of it, got numerous windows updates and spyware tools, and I believe 90% of the problem is fixed.

 

Now, when I go to play an online game known as Counter-Strike Source, whenever I click on the icon, the cursor will change to show it's waiting, then change back to normal, without the game opening or beginning. I tried another one of my games, and the same thing happened. I re-installed the game client and it still wont work...

 

Clearly there is an .exe file corruption, so does anyone have any ideas on:

A) Removing more spyware that may be corrupting said files

B) How to ensure the games will work even after removing the spyware

C) Any solutions to this strange problem
