REGISTRY PROBLEM - CD BURNER/PLAYER DOES NOT WORK

Dell Dem. 3000, Win. XP.  When I boot up get message;  "windows can not find D:\CDSETUP.EXE"  once I close that the next one reads;  "could not load D:\SETUP.EXE specified in registry."     Also get "config. info (in registry) incomplete or damaged (code 19).  Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that does not work.  PLEASE HELP!   TY
