New SSD, clone or fresh install windows?

Just bought an Inspiron 5675, it didn't come with an SSD so I bought one from amazon. Just wondering if it's better to use a cloning software to move windows to the SSD or do a fresh install of windows? Also will any of this affect my warranty? Any tips or guides would be awesome! Thank you :)

Hi lucashuang,

Thanks for posting.

While it won't void your warranty, if you ever need warranty service, the system would have to be as it was purchased, so check your invoice to make sure all the parts are correct before calling in.

A clean install of Windows would be best, be sure to install the drivers in the correct order.

It is recommended to do a fresh install of windows. If you are bothered by the process of fresh install, you can turn to cloning software to move Windows to SSD.

I would clone it. That way you don't have to reinstall anything, nor do you risk losing something that wasn't carried over.

I would also clone it. Cloning is much quicker and you will not have to look for and install drivers in the right order before re-installing your apps.
