Precision 5540 Unable to install Dell Support Assist

Hello All,

I have a 3 month old Precision 5540 on which Dell Support Assist does not work. V 3.3.3

I found a Dell you tube guide to do a clean uninstall before installing the software. I tried that number of times but it does not work.

Issues is:

According to the guide after removing the directories and registry keys I should not see any services like 

Dell Data Vault Collector, Dell Data Vault Processor, Dell Data Vault Service API.   But even after doing all the steps 3 times services are not deleted.

Any suggestions?

Hello there,

my 2month old precision 5540 has the exact same problem.  It couldn't update and then i got into the uninstall and reinstall solution as described at the official video and at this forum.  Everything looks clean on registry ect. but still fails to install the new version...

did you finally manage to re install it? is there any other solution?

Hi, I have the same problem, Support Assist just won't install. Not even after cleaning my system like in the video.
Apparently msiexec.exe returns 1603, which could mean 4 different things, according to MS
