Unable to Start
when i boot up my computer it starts normally, geting to the pre-windows blue screen (after entering the name and passwork )and nothing happens. if i do ctrl-alt-del it comes up, but there is NOTHING in the display, all i can do is shutdown. Sometimes I can get to the desktop where the boot process "suspends" and I cannot shutdown. On a couple of occasions, I have received the following error message
MSTask.exe Application Error
Xthe instruction at"ox75032ffc" referenced memory at "oxcc00cc". The memory could not be "written". Click OK to terminate the program.
The PC had been behaving "eratically" the last few weeks, ie hanging up and just suspending applications, particularly IE 6. I am current on Windows 2000 Service packs.
I have the following configuration
XPS T450 w/ 128 Mb of RAM
Turtle Beach Montego A3D Sound Card
16mb STB nVidia TNT graphics card
12.9GB hard Disk
Windows 2000 professional (upgraded about a year ago from Win 98).
I was attempting to install Norton Systemworks 2002 and have been unable to completely "restart" and complete the installation.
Next step recommended by telephone support is to run System Diagnostics (DD1045.exe).
Help please!!!
