I have a Dell Lattitude E6430 issued by my company. The laptop is less than 6 months old and I use it as infrequently as possible due to a track pad issue that I have been unable to solve. I cannot get through one email/paragraph without the trackpad sensing a false input and jumping the cursor to an unintended location, thus deleting a block of text or inserting text between a previously typed word. It is the most infuriating thing in my work day.

I have the Dell Touch Pad control panel settings pushed to the max with Touch Guard. I have made the track pad as insensitive as possible and disabled the point stick. I've resorted to using a bluetooth keyboard but that always has connection issues. Some days it works, most days it fails to connect over and over until I give up and use the built in keyboard with all of it's troubles. I don't have large hands and I make a conscious effort to keep my palms as far away as possible from the track pad and yet 4 times during the writing of these 2 paragraphs I've had to ctrl+z to get back text lost from a spurious track pad input.

I have never experienced any issues with my Mac track pad, ever. Not even once. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix or even alleviate this issue I'd be very grateful. I find myself composing emails and doing as much work related stuff as possible on my iPad just to avoid this issue. I'd disable the trackpad all together if the bluetooth connection were reliable, which it is not. A wired mouse is my next step but I feel strongly that I shouldn't have to purchase an additional pointing device when the computer already comes with 2.
