I have a R740 server with a BOSS-S1 card populated with 2 Intel 224 GB modules. I have always experienced sluggish performance from this server and tried opening support tickets, updated firmware and looked at other possible causes without success. Finally, I just gave up and figured at some point I would pull the card and redo the server booting from H740P drives. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue. Maybe it's a bad card or a bad M.2 module? When I bench the drive performance it comes up about 4.5 times slower on reads than the m.2 drive in my laptop and 11.5 times slower than the H740P based drives in the same server. Writes are 7.3 times slower than the laptop and 21 times slower than the H740P drives. Ideas?
