I have an Inspiron 1501 with 2 gigs memory. It has an AMD Turion 64 running Vista.

SLOW

I wanted to upgrade system memory to 4 gigs, but everything I've been reading tells me I can only support 2 gigs.

Is this correct? Why? I thought we ran that hurdle years ago.

Any suggestions are helpful. I've shut down just about everything  I can...still slow.

Believe it or not I even reloaded and started over, effectively dumping all the I don't use anyway.

Is there any way out of the dark ages of three minute boots and excrutiatingly slow WMP loading?
