Topic: Digital Transformation: The Imperative to Change
Synopsis: The forces of disruption and business model transformation are affecting all industries – there will be winners and losers. IDC’s prediction that by 2018, one third of the top 20 leading enterprises in most industries will be significantly disrupted by new competitors using the 3rd platform to create new services and business models is now taking shape. Companies that fail to transform into digital businesses are doomed to failure, sooner or later. IDC's analysis is that successful digital transformation will be the major source of competitive differentiation for enterprises going forward. We will look at the 5 components of IDC's analysis of digital transformation and look particularly at how enterprise content management and collaboration systems can be an enabler by bringing the digital platform together to push the enterprise further up the maturity curve. Within this analysis, a particular focus will be placed on looking at how companies operating across the Asia Pacific region are transforming their customer focused and internally focused processes as those digital platforms are created.
