At Dell we focus on addressing our organizational resilience through the dimensions of both enterprise and cyber resilience. Both are interconnected and essential to achieve organizational resilience but are two distinct functions to our business operations and security.

We conduct quarterly and annual exercises to verify that our educational resources, communication tools, and response plans meet our policies and standards, thus ensuring the effectiveness of our organizational resilience measures.

Dell Technologies Enterprise Resilience Domains

To achieve our Enterprise Resilience objectives, Dell Technologies has established the following core programs:

Crisis Management – To establish defined teams and capability to co-ordinate Dell's response to significant disruptive events

Business Continuity – To identify and enable the timely recoverability of business-critical processes and operations

Disaster Recovery Governance – To establish the resilience and timely recoverability of business-critical data and systems

Crisis Management

Dell's Crisis Management Program is a proactive operating capability designed to coordinate the organization's response and recovery efforts in the face of events, a series of events, or circumstances that pose a threat to Dell and its customers. By incorporating cross-functional representation and a scalable operations structure, the Crisis Management Program addresses all significant risks to Dell that escalate to the level of an actual or potential crisis. It ensures a well-defined communication and escalation flow, promoting efficient coordination of planning and response activities. Through this comprehensive approach, Dell can effectively manage and minimize any potential impacts to the company and its customers.

Business Continuity

The Business Continuity Program delivers a scalable, consistent approach, aligned to ISO22301 (international Standard for Business Continuity). It supports all business teams in Dell Technologies to build a capability that will allow critical operations to continue in the event of a disruptive event.The Business Continuity Planning process is based on an all-hazards approach which focuses on the impact or potential impact of disruptive events on time-sensitive, critical operations. The program focuses on planning for the following key loss scenarios:

1. Loss of people
2. Loss of technology (IT services / hardware / software / data)
3. Loss of location (facilities / workplace)
4. Loss of third party (suppliers/ vendors / partners / supply chain)

Disaster Recovery
The Disaster Recovery Program establishes standards, processes and controls for the timely recoverability of business-critical data, applications, systems and infrastructure used to manage and support Dell's business functions. These requirements ensure the continuity of resources that support Dell's critical business functions.

Our program and methodology ensure that applications and infrastructure, that serve our customers, possess resilience capabilities that are aligned with contractually obligated service level agreements, RTO, and RPO. A designated recovery site, as well as availability of IT disaster recovery personnel, have been pre-established to be quickly mobilized in the event of a business interruption. Additionally, the disaster recovery plans are revised and tested at least annually, when new applications are brought online, or when changes to the IT environment occur. The test methods are commensurate to the criticality of the application/system.

The Disaster Recovery Plan provides for timely recoverability of business-critical applications, data, systems, and architecture which support Dell's critical operations in an incident that severely impacts a business's ability to conduct business as usual.

Cyber Resilience

Dell's commitment to cyber security is exemplified by its robust cyber security pillar, which serves to safeguard critical information, business operations, valued customers, and brand reputation against cyber threats across all levels. Our comprehensive cyber security approach ensures the security of Dell Technologies, empowering us to navigate the digital landscape with confidence and uphold the trust placed in us by our customers.
