What one word do the Oakland As, Chicago Bulls, and Dell EqualLogic have in common? Three-peat. Like the As and Bulls, EqualLogic has won a championship award for the third year in a row. While our engineering team might not get to walk around with a World Series or NBA Championship ring on their finger, Dell is extremely honored to win IT Brand Pulse’s iSCSI Storage award for the third consecutive time. IT Brand Pulse, a trusted source of data and analysis for IT infrastructure, announced the results of its 2013 Brand Leader Survey for storage this week. The storage IT consumers completing the survey were asked which vendors they perceive as the leader in twelve product categories. For the third year in a row (enter “three-peat” title), EqualLogic was selected as the Market Leader for iSCSI Storage. Not only did EqualLogic win as the market leader, Dell took all of the remaining categories: Price, Performance, Reliability, Service & Support, and Innovation.
While IDC has validated Dell’s overall sales leadership in iSCSI arrays for the past 19 quarters running, it’s truly rewarding to see the IT community recognize Dell’s effort to offer innovative, highly virtualized storage arrays with the world’s best reliability and total cost of ownership. In addition to EqualLogic sweeping this iSCSI category, in the past 6 months we shipped our 100,000 EqualLogic array, surpassed 50,000 total customers, grew our customer base over 30 percent versus our previous fiscal year and achieved an all-time high for volume shipments in our fourth quarter. Not too shabby.
It’s also significant to note that we received strong user validation for our Dell Fluid File System NAS offerings by placing third as Market Leader behind NetApp and EMC. There’s plenty more to come from Dell as we continue to drive innovation into our portfolio to help customers reduce the cost and complexity of storage.
