HD or SSD?

Storage is your computer's long-term memory. It's where your files, programs, games and all kinds of content are saved so you can access them whenever you need them. Today there are two forms of storage: HD and SSD.

What are the main differences between HD and SSD?

  1. HD

    More space

The main advantage of HD is its large storage capacity and durability of saved files. Before making your choice, consider how your computer will be used. If you want a computer to store lots of files and programs, a hard drive is the best option.
  2. SS

    More Speed

The SSD is much faster than a hard drive as it has no moving parts. The files are saved in flash memory modules, it is much faster to access a file, start a program or the operating system itself. Plus, the SSD consumes less power and doesn't emit noise - ideal for those who want quieter computers with longer battery life.

FAQs

RPM stands for Rotations Per Minute. The higher, the faster the read and write speeds.
Although the SSD is currently dominating the market, it is a relatively new technology and therefore has higher costs.
When this technology hit the market, it was rumored that SSDs would have a short lifespan. The truth is, compared to hard drives, SSDs last less, but still have a long lifespan.
