That helps you reduce internal image upkeep when standardization is the priority, while still supporting custom deployment needs when your environment requires them.
You should choose Ready Image when you want a clean, standardized image that supports modern provisioning and reduces the work of maintaining your own image baseline. You should choose Configuration Image when you need specific applications, settings, or a customer-owned build that reflects more specialized deployment requirements.
You do not need TechDirect for Dell to apply Ready Image during the factory process. You do need TechDirect if you want to enable, configure, and manage Self-Healing Image Recovery features, including recovery profiles and recovery behavior across eligible devices.
Yes. Eligible imaging customers can use Self-Healing Image Recovery to restore supported devices after shipment, not just at the initial deployment stage. This gives IT a cloud-managed recovery option that can help users return to productivity faster after software issues, reprovisioning events, or other recovery needs.
Imaging Services support most Commercial Client devices Gen 10 and higher. Ready Image focuses on supported Windows versions and language options, while Configurable Image can help address some more specific operating system or configuration requirements with appropriate review. Customers should confirm the exact model and OS combination before rollout.
