How to Troubleshoot 042-700 & 142-700 Over Heat Errors on the C3760 / C3765dnf Dell Laser Printers

142-700: IOT Over Heat Forced Half Speed

1. Turn off the Printer and remove the communication cables (USB or Ethernet, depending on Set-up).
2. Power the Printer on and verify if the error has recurred.
3. If the error recurs, please re-seat the Fuser Unit.
   Detailed instruction of removing/replacing the Fuser Unit can be found in the printers User's Guide using your printers Service Tag or model number
4. After re-seating the Fuser Unit, power the Printer on and verify if error recurs.
5. If the error recurs, please try another Fuser Unit from a working Dell 3760 / 3765dn Laser Printer.
6. If the error recurs with a working Fuser Unit, or none is available, please contact Dell Technical Support.

It is recommended that only Dell Branded toner, drums, transfer rollers or other consumables are used in our laser printers. Dell cannot guarantee compatibility or the print quality of any 3rd party consumables.
