Additional details

Show All | Hide All
Storage Administrator privileges assigned to group do not propagate to user.

Issue: If the Storage Administrator role is assigned to a group, instead of a user, the plug-in will not recognize the user privileges and block access to the plug-in.

Work Around: Assign Storage Administrator roles to individual users and not groups.

vSphere Client 5.0 does not allow for cut and paste or delete key.

Issue: The use of cut and paste along with the delete key are blocked within the plug-in.

Work Around: No work around at this time, must manually enter information and use the backspace key.

Semi-Transparent Scrollbars

Issue: When text within the display panels exceeds the available space, scrollbars are displayed to allow for scrolling of the text. These scrollbars are semi-transparent and may be difficult to see.

Work Around: Hovering the mouse pointer over the scrollbar will cause the scrollbar to become non-transparent.

Update: Most tables have been converted to new toolkit that resolves this issue. There are still some tables that utilize the old toolkit and still exhibit this behavior

Event log viewer scroll bar goes beyond the limit.

Issue: When viewing details of MEL events within the MEL view, the right-side scrollbar goes beyond the limit of the displayed panel

Work Around: Closing and redisplaying the details window will reset the scrollbar for the current entry.

12 GB SAS HBA Not Supported

Issue: The latest 12 GB SAS devices are not supported by the included LSI SMI-S provider update. This will preclude the plug-in from automatically configuring 12 GB SAS storage arrays with the ESX Host Configuration wizard.

Workaround: 12 GB SAS storage arrays must be manually configured via Modular Disk Storage Manager instead of the VMware vCenter Plug-in for MD-Series Storage Arrays.
