Symptomer

Some of the common issues faced by Users after the firmware update include no sound from the headset, microphone not working, inability to connect, and general functionality problems.

  • AW720H

The issue may arise when the User updates either the headset firmware or the dongle firmware, but not both. This creates a mismatch in the firmware versions between the headset and dongle.

Firmware Update

To resolve the issue, Users must update both the headset and dongle firmware to the latest version. Updating just one results in the headset not functioning properly.

Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset: Updating the Dongle and Headset Firmware Manually

  1. Go to Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset.
  2. Download the Alienware Pro Wireless Headset Firmware Update Tool.
  3. Connect your headset to your computer through the USB cable, connect the wireless dongle too.
  4. Open the downloaded Alienware Pro Wireless Headset Firmware Update Tool file.
  5. Click AWProHFWUpdater. Once the firmware update is complete, the "Update Complete! OK" message is displayed.
  6. Close the window.

AW920H: Updating the Dongle and Headset Firmware Manually

  1. Go to Alienware Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Headset AW920H.
  2. Download the AW920H Dongle and Headset Firmware.
  3. Connect your headset to your computer through the USB cable, connect the wireless dongle too.
  4. Open the downloaded AW920H Dongle and Headset Firmware file.
  5. Click AW920HFWUpdater. Once the firmware update is complete, the "Update Complete! OK" message is displayed.
  6. Close the window.

AW720H: Updating the Dongle and Headset Firmware Manually

  1. Go to Alienware Dual Mode Wireless Gaming Headset AW720H.
  2. Download AW720H Dongle and Headset Firmware.
  3. Connect your headset to your computer through the USB cable, connect the wireless dongle too.
  4. Open the downloaded AW720H Dongle and Headset Firmware file.
  5. Click AW720HFWUpdater. Once the firmware update is complete, the "Update Complete! OK" message is displayed.
  6. Close the window.
