PowerPath-fejl.
Under en VPLEX NDU styrtede en VPLEX-direktør ned et par sekunder efter, at den kom tilbage. Dette afslørede en fejl i PowerPath relateret til enhedsåbninger, hvilket resulterer i, at PowerPath udsteder en ekstra udgivelse. Denne ekstra udgivelse resulterer i en brug-efter-fri tilstand og Linux-kernepanik.
Under en VPLEX NDU styrtede en VPLEX-direktør ned et par sekunder efter, at den kom tilbage. Dette afslørede en fejl i PowerPath relateret til enhedsåbninger, hvilket resulterer i, at PowerPath udsteder en ekstra udgivelse. Denne ekstra udgivelse resulterer i en brug-efter-fri tilstand og Linux-kernepanik.
Lösung
PowerPath 6.1 HF1 og fremtidige versioner af PowerPath har en rettelse til denne fejl.
Weitere Informationen
Både Red Hat og PowerPath Engineering var i stand til at genskabe tilstanden i laboratoriet uafhængigt af en VPLEX NDU. Ud over kundens rygspor var der flere forskellige panikspor, der blev set.
På grund af karakteren af use-after-free kan den faktiske panik ses flere steder.
