PowerPath-Fehler.
Während eines VPLEX-NDU stürzte ein VPLEX-Director einige Sekunden nach seiner Recovery ab. Dadurch wurde ein Fehler in PowerPath im Zusammenhang mit dem Öffnen von Geräten offengelegt, was dazu führte, dass PowerPath eine zusätzliche Version herausgab. Diese zusätzliche Version führt zu einem Use-after-free-Zustand und einem Linux-Kernel-Fehler.
Während eines VPLEX-NDU stürzte ein VPLEX-Director einige Sekunden nach seiner Recovery ab. Dadurch wurde ein Fehler in PowerPath im Zusammenhang mit dem Öffnen von Geräten offengelegt, was dazu führte, dass PowerPath eine zusätzliche Version herausgab. Diese zusätzliche Version führt zu einem Use-after-free-Zustand und einem Linux-Kernel-Fehler.
Lösung
In PowerPath 6.1 HF1 und zukünftigen Versionen von PowerPath liegt eine Korrektur für diesen Fehler vor.
Weitere Informationen
Sowohl Red Hat als auch PowerPath Engineering waren in der Lage, den Zustand im Labor unabhängig von einem VPLEX-NDU zu reproduzieren. Zusätzlich zum Kunden-Back-Trace gab es mehrere verschiedene Panik-Back-Traces, die beobachtet wurden.
Aufgrund der Natur des Use-after-Free ist die eigentliche Panik an mehreren Stellen zu sehen.
