Isilon OneFS: "lwmsg_call_dispatch" Error Occurs When Running "isi services" Command on the Cluster

Symptoms

When users run command "isi services -a/-l" to list the services running on the cluster, they get below error:

Cluster-2# isi services -a
Available Services:
lwmsg_call_dispatch failed: 16

 

Cause

This is because of mcp process is not running on the cluster.

 

Resolution

  1. Check whether the mcp process is running on the cluster or not

    Cluster-2# isi_for_array -s ps -auxww | grep -i mcp | grep -v grep
Cluster-2#

  2. Start the mcp process on the cluster

    Cluster-2# isi_for_array -s isi_mcp
Cluster-2#

  3. Verify the mcp process

    Cluster-2# isi_for_array -s ps -auxww | grep -i mcp | grep -v grep
