Symptoms

 Summary:

  • The get_current_time CLI command does not display the time zone as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) when the time zone is set to GMT using the set_time_display command.
  • It is a cosmetic issue where the time is changed to GMT, but the time zone does not display as GMT when it is set using the  set_time_display CLI command.

Impacted Configuration and Settings [Replication Mode,Splitter Type,Compression,CDP/CLR/Multi,FC/IP/iSCSI, Policies, so forth]:

  • CLI

Cause

Root cause:  GMT is set only when the Fezick data returns as empty, or else the local time zone is set. However, during installation it is mandatory to input a time zone. Therefore, the time zone is never empty. So, the time zone gets the local time zone, no matter what time zone is input.

Symptoms found in the logs:
CLI command logs -  loc_cluster> set_time_display time=local Time display set successfully. "loc_cluster> get_current_time Tue Jun 11 12:35:33 2019 (Asia/Jerusalem)  loc_cluster> set_time_display time=GMT Time" display set successfully. "loc_cluster> get_current_time Tue Jun 11 09:35:47 2019 (Asia/Jerusalem)"
