VxRail: Node Add Operation Failure "Error adding 3 host to the cluster. Health monitoring is disabled during this task"

Summary: When adding nodes to a cluster the operation fails on building the disk group, but the task is still running in vSphere.

Symptoms

Node add fails at step "Building vSAN disk groups on cluster" from VxRail plug-in:

Cause

An underlying vSAN issue such as a slow connection to the KMS server could cause a longer task time. VxRail Manager times out before the task completes.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. Wait for the Disk Group creation task to complete in vCenter.
  2. Retry task from the VxRail Manager plug-in succeeds.
