How to Grant Full Disk Access for Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise or Dell Threat Defense

Full Disk Access is required to protect all data on macOS Mojave (10.14.5) and later. This article describes how to enable Full Disk Access for Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise or Dell Threat Defense.

Cause
Not applicable.
Resolution
On September 24, 2018, Apple released macOS Mojave (10.14). This operating system update includes a new security feature called Full Disk Access. Full Disk Access blocks third-party applications from accessing certain file paths. This may prevent Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise or Dell Threat Defense from fully protecting a device.
Full Disk Access can be granted Manually or through mobile device management (MDM) software.

To grant Full Disk Access:
- On the desktop menu bar, click the Apple icon and then select System Preferences.

- In the System Preferences menu, double-click Security & Privacy.

- On the Privacy tab, select Full Disk Access.

- If needed, click the padlock icon and provide credentials for a local administrator account (not an Apple ID) to allow changes.

- Click the + button to the right of the highlighted Full Disk Access.

- Go to
/Library/Application Support/Cylance/Desktop/, select CylanceSvc, and then click Open.

- Quit Security & Privacy.
Granting an application Full Disk Access is accomplished on MDM software using a Privacy Preferences payload.
The fields to grant Full Disk Access are:
- Identifier: com.cylance.Agent
- Identifier type: Bundle ID
- Code requirement: identifier "com.cylance.Agent" and anchor apple generic and certificate 1[field.1.2.840.113635.100.6.2.6] /* exists */ and certificate leaf[field.1.2.840.113635.100.6.1.13] /* exists */ and certificate leaf[subject.OU] = "6ENJ69K633"
- App or Service: SystemPolicyAllFiles
- Access: Allow
