Symptoms
The management console server (MCS) logs intermittently report that it was unable to get Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) data:
grep -ih snmp /usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_log/mcserver.log* | grep -B1 -i "warn\|err"

Running tcpdump on DD (in bash mode) shows that multiple systems are requesting SNMP information:
tcpdump -i any portrange 161-163
tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode
listening on any, link-type LINUX_SLL (Linux cooked), capture size 96 bytes

See Avamar: How To Access a Data Domain System for information about how to log in to DD and access bash mode.
Cause
Overlapping SNMP requests from multiple systems are causing SNMP time outs for Avamar and potentially other systems requesting SNMP information.
Resolution
1. Review which systems are polling SNMP information from the Data Domain for potential parameter changes.
2. If DPA is polling Data Domain, engage the DPA support team referencing Data Domain SNMP status request consistently fails with timeout errors.
3. If the issue is still not resolved, see Avamar: Troubleshooting Data Domain Integration Errors in the Avamar Administrator UI (Resolution Path).
