How To Enable or Disable Hardware Virtualization on Dell Computers

Note: Not all Dell computers support Virtualization. If a Virtualization configuration option is not available in the BIOS, then Virtualization is not supported.
Note: Press Ctrl + Alt + S keys to unhide a hidden setting such as VT-x option on a computer released in 2025 and later.

Enable or disable Hardware Virtualization on Dell computers.

  1. Power on your computer.
  2. Press F2 when the Dell logo appears to enter BIOS setup.
  3. Go to the Virtualization settings. The path can vary based on your computer model:
    • Advanced > Virtualization
      Or
    • Virtualization Support > Virtualization
  4. Set Virtualization to Enabled.
  5. Set Virtualization for Direct-IO (or VT-d) to Enabled.
  6. Save and Exit.
  7. The computer reboots.
