Symptoms

The PowerStore pre-upgrade health check (PUHC) may fail the incorrect drive database (off_release_drivedb_check) validation, with the following error: Incorrect Drive Database is detected. Please contact your service provider. (off_release_drivedb_check).

The health check is an off-release PUHC check that is contained in the Health Check thin package.

The following snapshot is displayed in the PowerStore Manager when the issue is detected: image.png

Cause

This issue only affects: 
    • Upgrade to PowerStoreOS version: 3.6.1.0-2261541
    • NVME drives SAMSUNG TLA 005648566.

When this issue exists, a data unavailable condition may occur if all of the following conditions apply:
    a) The appliance has impacted drives. 
    b) NDU to 3.6.1.0-2261541 is performed.
    c) NVME expansion enclosure or base enclosure (DPE) with the impacted drives was previously reinitialized in field.

This issue is a result of the removal of the DriveDB file after the NVME expansion enclosure or DPE is reinitialized.
