PowerPath for Linux: Removing All Paths under PowerPath Control

Summary: The user is replacing their VNX storage with PowerMax storage. The paths, underlying pseudo devices, and the native devices must be removed.

Instructions

  1. Ensure that there is no I/O to devices and ensure that the emcpower<id> devices are not in use.
  2. Run /etc/opt/emcpower/emcplun_linux remove emcpower<id> (The "all" option removes the pseudo devices if they are not in use. This can be used, but be careful.)
  3. Remove the physical connections to the storage, remove the mappings, and the zoning.
