Symptoms

La modifica è stata il riavvio del nodo. È possibile che non venga visualizzato questo messaggio per tutte le unità, forse solo una o due unità nel cluster.

L'utente visualizza l'avviso riportato di seguito, o qualcosa di simile, e vuole sapere cosa ha causato il problema e se un'unità è andata male: 
Resolved: The write-cache for the drive in the following location is enabled: Chassis Serial Number JXXXXXXXXXXXX1, Node 4, Sled E, Slot 1, Type HDD, LNUM 0, Serial XXXXXXXX. OneFS disabled the write-cache to comply with recommended drive settings. Replace the drive according to the instructions in the H400 Drive Replacement Guide.

NOTA: Questo si verifica solo nei cluster Gen6.

Cause

Il problema è che, per impostazione predefinita, la cache in scrittura sull'unità è disabilitata e, durante un riavvio, la cache in scrittura sembra essere stata modificata in abilitata. Il sistema segnala queste informazioni, di solito di natura estetica e che possono essere ignorate al momento del controllo del valore Write Cache Enabled.

Questo problema viene risolto in una versione futura di OneFS. Il team dell'engineering Dell sta lavorando per modificare le notifiche degli eventi.

Resolution

Eseguire i comandi riportati di seguito per confermare lo stato dell'unità e che la cache di scrittura dell'unità è disabilitata:     
  1. Verificare lo stato delle unità e verificare se sono presenti unità non integre:       
# isi_for_array 'isi devices list | grep -iv "healthy" | grep -iv "L3"
  1. Verificare che la cache in scrittura dell'unità sia disabilitata:       
# camcontrol modepage da<drive da number> -m 8 -P 0
# camcontrol modepage da<drive da number>-m 8 -P 1
# camcontrol modepage da<drive da number>-m 8 -P 2
# camcontrol modepage da<drive da number>-m 8 -P 3

Please check the value associated with the WCE Parameter for each of the commands. If WCE is set to 0, then we can safely ignore and quiet the alert.
