Symptoms

In questo esempio, il server NTP è raggiungibile, ma Unity non può sincronizzarsi con esso perché il valore stratum è impostato su 6. Questa condizione può essere determinata dall'output del svc_ntp -i comando; non è presente alcun simbolo "*" all'inizio della riga per il server NTP.

Cause

In /etc/ntp.confè presente la riga seguente che impedisce la sincronizzazione di ntpd con i server NTP con un valore stratum pari o superiore a 6.

Resolution

 
Sono disponibili due opzioni per risolvere il problema.
  1. Utilizzare i server NTP configurati con un valore stratum pari o inferiore a 5.  
Attendere circa 10 minuti, quindi eseguire il svc_ntp -s comando per verificare che ntpd sia in sincronizzazione con il server NTP. L'output deve avere un asterisco a sinistra della voce NTP e il valore stratum (st) deve essere pari o inferiore a 5.

  1. Contattare il supporto tecnico Dell o il fornitore di servizi con licenza per modificare il /etc/ntp.conf file e modificare il valore nella riga seguente per supportare valori stratum maggiori del valore predefinito 5, in quanto questo metodo richiede l'accesso root.

Il valore massimo supportato è 15.

Esempio: 
# cp /etc/ntp.conf /cores/service/user/ntp.conf.bak
# sed -i -e 's/tos orphan 6/tos orphan 7/g' /etc/ntp.conf
# diff /etc/ntp.conf /cores/service/user/ntp.conf.bak
86c86
< tos orphan 7
---
> tos orphan 6

Quindi, eseguire il seguente comando:


svc_ntp -s
Nota: Il tos orphan valore in /etc/ntp.conf può essere riportato al valore originale dopo un aggiornamento di Unity OE.

Nota: Se la differenza di orario è troppo grande, potrebbe essere necessario riavviare uno storage processor (SP) per rendere effettiva la modifica.
