Summary: A previously installed PowerStore software component has become incompatible with the PowerStoreOS after the operating system (OS) upgrade.
Symptoms
| Alert ID | NDU_SOFTWARE_COMPONENT_STATUS_INCOMPATIBLE |
| Alert Text | PowerStore %(package_type) component may be incompatible with the installed OS. |
| Error Code | 0x01500701 |
- Customers see
PowerStore software component incompatiblealerts for each out-of-date component. - This indicates that the previously installed software component, identified by the alert, is now incompatible with the currently installed PowerStoreOS.
Cause
PowerStore software components including Health Check, Language Pack, and Disk Firmware packages are not upgraded as part of PowerStoreOS upgrade. If the cluster had any of these installed before the OS upgrade, they are out of date if the major and minor versions are different.
Example: PowerStore Health Check for 4.0.x and 4.1.x is not compatible with PowerStoreOS v4.3.x.
Resolution
This minor alert is benign; however, it is recommended to upgrade the identified PowerStore software component packages to ensure system stability.
For information about locating and installing the Health Check package compatible with the PowerStoreOS release running on the cluster, see KB article PowerStore: How to use the System Check feature and KB article PowerStore: Landing Page for In Market (off-release) System Health Checks
For all other packages, install the corresponding package that is compatible with the same major and minor version as the PowerStoreOS release running on the cluster. These packages are posted in Drivers & Downloads: (Requires login to the Dell support site to view the document.)
