Symptoms
During Import, cascading events can occur that may cause multiple faults. This may result in a failed Import session, with incomplete rollback (cancellation) of the Import job, and the host showing an invalid migration state of the volume. These types of faults fall under the disaster recovery umbrella as "double faults". In short, a double fault consists of multiple fault events occurring during an Import, such as the source or destination array going offline, and host going offline. This double fault prevents automatic cancellation (rollback) from completing, leaving the source volume in a state that requires manual intervention to recover.
Issue
Multiple Alerts or Import job failure messages may be seen on the PowerStore system:- "Import failed while preparing the destination volume for copy."
- "Import failed and is being auto-canceled because the data from the source could not be copied to the destination volume. See alerts for more details."
- "The source volume could not be restored to normal state. This issue might impact administrative operations. See <volume_name> alerts for more details."

Resolution
Solution
1. From PowerStore Manager > Migration > Import External Storage, determine the state of the Import job.2. If the state shows as "CLEANUP_REQUIRED", perform the requested operation. If CLEANUP_REQUIRED fails, contact your technical support for volume recovery assistance.
3. After the source array has had its volumes recovered to the correct state, reboot the Import host.
4. Under PowerStore Manager > Migration > Import External Storage > Select Remote System and volume, then under MORE ACTIONS, "Refresh Hosts" and "Refresh Volumes".
5. Retry the Import.
