Symptoms

PowerProtect Storage Direct deletions fail with the following messages. 
/opt/dpsapps/ppfsagent/bin/protectpoint backup delete backup-id <backup_id> config-file /opt/dpsapps/ppfsagent/config/storagedirect.config
*** Using VMAX configuration file "/opt/dpsapps/ppfsagent/config/storagedirect.config" ***
Backup <backup-id> will be deleted.
Are you sure you want to continue (default is 'no') [yes/no]?
yes

**** Unable to delete the backup: Error deleting static images on DD <DD_NAME/DD_IP>: Failed to delete DD static image <static image>. ( HTTP response 500 indicates an error: .)...

Cause

The ProtectPoint user created in Data Domain needs an admin role but it has assigned "none" role.

Resolution

Assign admin ROLE to the ProtectPoint user in Data Domain.
