Symptoms
Upgrade validation for IDPA 2.7.8 fails with the following error:
[ERROR] Failed to do Protection Storage upgrade precheck.
![[ERROR] Failed to do Protection Storage upgrade precheck](https://supportkb.dell.com/img/ka0Do000000ZZtpIAG/ka0Do000000ZZtpIAG_en_US_1.jpeg)
The Protection Storage (Data Domain) was upgraded to DDOS 7.1.10.60 due to DSA-2025-139.
Check the DDOS version by logging into the DD using SSH/PUTTY as sysadmin and running the following command:
system show version
Data Domain OS 7.10.1.60-1161253Cause
Protection Storage (DDOS) was upgraded to a higher version than the one in the IDPA 2.7.8 upgrade package, causing the validation to fail.
