Instructions

DD Boost does not support Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). DD Boost uses local username that is assigned to DD Boost to access storage units.

To access DD Boost storage units, you create local users and then create Storage-units where the Storage-Units are assigned to a user.

To add a local user:
# user add <user>
                [role {admin | limited-admin | security |
                user | backup-operator | none}
                [min-days-between-change <days>]
                [max-days-between-change <days>]
                [warn-days-before-expire <days>]
                [disable-days-after-expire <days>]
                [disable-date <date>]
                [force-password-change {yes | no}]
                                       Add a new user
To assign a local user to DD Boost:
# ddboost user assign <user-name-list>
To assign a particular user to a particular Storage Unit:
# ddboost storage-unit modify <storage-unit>
                [user <user-name>] [tenant-unit <tenant-unit | none>]
                [quota-soft-limit <n | none> {MiB|GiB|TiB|PiB}]
                [quota-hard-limit <n | none> {MiB|GiB|TiB|PiB}]
                [report-physical-size <n | none> {MiB|GiB|TiB|PiB}]
                [write-stream-soft-limit <n | none>]
                [read-stream-soft-limit <n | none>]
                [repl-stream-soft-limit <n | none>]
                [combined-stream-soft-limit <n | none>]
                [combined-stream-hard-limit <n | none>]
                                       Modify storage-unit user, tenant and/or
                                       quota limits
For example:
# ddboost user show
     ostuser
Assuming storage-unit STU1
# ddboost storage-unit modify STU1 user ostuser
DD Boost creates registry values for each user and storage unit to track what user is assigned to what Storage Unit. We use this information when processing the data.

The application provides DD Boost with the username and corresponding user's password when establishing the connections.
