Solution

You can enable it in two places, either directly on the distributed device or on consistency group.

For the distributed volume, simply go to the DD and run command:

VPlexcli:/  cd /distributed-storage/distributed-devices/
VPlexcli:/distributed-storage/distributed-devices cd dd_test0
VPlexcli:/distributed-storage/distributed-devices/dd_test0 set auto-resume true

VPlexcli:/distributed-storage/distributed-devices/dd_test0

Name Status Operational Health Auto Rule Set Name Transfer
---------------------------------- ------- Status State Resume ------------------ Size
---------------------------------- ------- ----------- ------ ------ ------------------ --------
dd_test0 running ok ok true cluster-1-detaches 2M

You will notice that the "Auto Resume" column changes to true, confirming that the device will now be automatically restarted once restored connections.

For consistency group, same principle but different location:

VPlexcli:/ cd /clusters/cluster-1/consistency-groups/
VPlexcli:/clusters/cluster-1/consistency-groups cd cg_dd_tst
VPlexcli:/clusters/cluster-1/consistency-groups/cg_dd_tst cd advanced/
VPlexcli:/clusters/cluster-1/consistency-groups/cg_dd_tst/advanced set auto-resume-at-loser true
VPlexcli:/clusters/cluster-1/consistency-groups/cg_dd_tst/advanced

Once defined, this setting will apply to all the distributed devices in the consistency group.
