Symptoms
WWAN SIM does not lock, and a PIN is not needed when restarting
Anyone setting and unlocking a PIN for the WWAN SIM card on your Dell Pro 14 Plus PB14255 laptop can experience this issue. After restarting the laptop, the SIM remains unlocked and does not require a PIN code after restarting into the Windows desktop.
Note: The laptop locks the SIM once the laptop goes through a cold shutdown and then boots back into Windows.
Cause
This is due to a BIOS coding issue.
Resolution
Note: Administrator rights are required on the laptop to make any operating system changes or update any software.
Updating to Dell Pro 14 Plus PB14255 System BIOS version 1.5.1 or later on the laptop resolves the issue. To download and install the Dell_Pro_Plus_PB13255_PB14255_PB16255_1.5.1.exe update file, see:
